Delivering on this vision through a variety of strategies, OneOncology’s solutions focus on reducing burdens on partner practices and, at the same time, helping them achieve excellence in every patient encounter. Pharmacy Services is one area in which this work is exemplified.
With the newly launched Pharmacy Shared Service offering, participating practices get access to assistance from OneOncology Pharmacy Operations team staff members to operationalize practice pre-approved therapeutic interchanges in the EMR, support clinical education for staff, and build EMR drug regimens that align with the approved therapeutic interchange. Therapeutic interchanges are often an extra administrative burden on practices. Obtaining assistance from OneOncology allows the practice to take advantage of the benefits associated with such interchanges while also freeing up practice staff to do more patient-facing, and potentially more urgent work.
In 2024, the Pharmacy Operations team also expanded its services to include Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) and Pharmacy Setup and Enhancement Services. This new offering includes quarterly reviews to help practices optimize MID and pharmacy operations by identifying and implementing efficient processes. Additionally, the service focuses on improving performance through better inventory management and cost control, while most importantly, helping MIDs and pharmacies deliver exceptional care and enhance patient satisfaction.
Looking forward, OneOncology’s goal is to continue broadening and deepening these services. Practice physicians and their staff should be freed from as many extraneous, although important, tasks that are not at the core of why they are in this line of work: spending time with patients to deliver the best care possible.
