Re-establishing Independent Cancer Care in the Lowcountry

In October, OneOncology finalized a partnership with Lowcountry Oncology Associates (LOA), to support six physicians who wanted to re-establish a physician-owned practice in greater Charleston, South Carolina.

The comprehensive offerings OneOncology utilized for Lowcountry include:
Clinic Design and Build-Out: Managed the execution of multiple site build-outs in partnership with the physicians to create clinics that met physician and patient needs.
Service Line Build-Out: Established comprehensive ancillary services, including infusion, lab, pharmacy, and PET/CT in the clinic.
Staffing Support: Recruited clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring no disruption in patient care.
Practice Operations Build-Out: Created new systems and processes, including revenue cycle management, practice management, EMR, IT infrastructure, finance, and negotiated new payor contracts.
Robust Capital Support: Provided the necessary capital for practice setup, including leases, build-out, and staff salaries.
Brand Development & Communication Support: Created a new brand identity and launched marketing initiatives to inform the community about the new practice. The OneOncology-LOA partnership and re-establishment of community-based cancer care in the Lowcountry region exemplifies the mission of OneOncology, improving the lives of everyone living with cancer by bringing the latest cancer research and treatment options to patients close to home.

“OneOncology’s centralized support enabled us to build a new practice so that we could care for patients in the community setting again,” said Matthew Beldner, MD, Partner, Lowcountry Oncology Associates.
